All of his experience helped to lay the foundation for setting up Papa Jones Bar-B-Q and Grill.
The Braised Lamb Shank With Black Pepper Sauce (S$16.90) is one of the unique dishes available there. With how decadent it looks, this dish definitely deserves praise considering the affordable price point.

After all, it’s where Papa Jones BBQ and Grill has relocated to from their previous place in Serangoon. And with such a sweet-sounding deal, how could I resist?

Had a very good Coffeeshop ribeye steak and fish and chips at Papa Jones. It’s owned an operated by Chef Jackson Tan who used to work at Hog’s breath cafe and Shangrila. This is the kind of place you go to for a no fuss, value for money western meal! The ribeye steak is very good value.
You get a 180-200g NZ chilled ribeye that is char-grilled and served with a choice of homemade black pepper or butter merlot sauce. The quality of the meat is very good for this price. It was tender and juicy. The fish n chips is one of the best around. The dory fish is handled well and the batter is light and crisp. Chef tells me that he uses a batter mix from Japan thus getting 2 very decent pieces of fish with excellent fries. Very decent food at value for money prices. They have a lamb shank which I am told is very good too!
